LaTeX Table Editor

What is the table editor?

The Sarmate.net table editor is a visual WYSIWYG online editor that lets you create LaTeX tables directly with your mouse. Color cells, merge areas, insert formulas, move rows by drag and drop — the LaTeX code is generated in real time.

Who is this tool for?

Whether you're creating a report with colored data tables, writing a textbook with exercises, or presenting scientific results — the editor saves you valuable time. Writing tabular, booktabs, multicolumn, cellcolor syntax by hand is tedious and error-prone.

Step-by-step guide

1

Build the table

Click + Row and + Column to set your table size. Click directly in cells to enter text, numbers or LaTeX formulas ($x^2$).

2

Colors and style

Right-click on a cell, row or column opens a menu with options: background color, text color, alignment. Choose from the palette or use the color picker for custom colors.

3

Borders and merging

Use the 4 border presets (all, none, Booktabs, horizontal) or adjust borders per row/column. Merge cells horizontally or vertically via right-click.

4

Move and organize

Drag and drop a row or column to a new position. Content and all formatting follow automatically.

5

Copy or test the code

The code is displayed in 3 blocks: Packages, Preamble, Table. Copy each block individually or all at once. Click Test to see the result immediately in the online compiler.
